The grapes for this wine come from the McGraw Estate vineyard in Naramata.  The soils are predominantly a glacial till, a mixture of clay and sand.  The vineyard is close to the lake but is surrounded by clay banks that absorb and reflect the summer heat.  This is one of our hotter growing sites.  The heat in this vineyard gives the McGraw Merlot flavours of chocolate and dark fruit, plum and black cherry.
